In my sister's spare time, she makes delicious things for George and me to eat. The latest is her pumpkin bread, using an old recipe from our mom. It's perfect for fall and is a great late-afternoon snack.
Eryn has consistently made baked goodies every week this summer - things like her famous chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, german chocolate cake, fresh bread, and ginger-bread cookies. I've become very spoiled.
And now that the weather is turning, I need to get back to running every day.

The Tractor Supply Store
Today after our girls' lunch after church, four of us went out to the Tractor Supply store so I could do some necessary shopping for the horse. You all think we went to check out cowboys, but you are wrong.
We had a fun time gabbing on the way out there and all the way back, trying on cowgirl shirts, (I got my horse-shopping fix), gawking at the endless variety of law mowers, noting the smell of sweat feed wafting from the store, and admiring the miniatures of tractors, meercats, foals, and other random objects.

Back in the land of the living
I've been sick all week.
It's ironic that this post follows the "Offerings" post. Being sick and confronted with bodily frailty reminds me with how very little I have to offer God on my own.
"The only thing that I can give You
Is the life You gave to me."
It is only what He gives that we can give back to Him.

Offering by Third Day
Magnificent Holy Father
I stand in awe of all I see
Of all the things You have created
But still You choose to think of me
Who am I that You should suffer
Your very life to set me free
The only thing that I can give You
Is the life You gave to me
This is my offering, dear Lord
This is my offering to You, God
And I will give You my life
For it's all I have to give
Because You gave Your life for me
I stand before You at this altar
So many have given You more
I may not have much I can offer
Yet what I have is truly Yours
This is my offering
I stand in awe of all I see
Of all the things You have created
But still You choose to think of me
Who am I that You should suffer
Your very life to set me free
The only thing that I can give You

This is my offering to You, God
And I will give You my life
For it's all I have to give
Because You gave Your life for me
I stand before You at this altar
So many have given You more
I may not have much I can offer
Yet what I have is truly Yours
This is my offering
