Christmas - the beginning of a war

Christmas is the beginning of a war on death.

Christmas is the story of war - the beginning of a victory - where Jesus snuck in the back door to make a beach-head landing in the victory over death. ~ from yesterday's sermon

All of this gives me hope - hope that even in the darkness and evil so pointedly on display in our world today, the battle is not lost - no, it is being waged and we know the ending: the King who stealthy came as a babe will soon return to put all evil under His feet - for eternity - and call us Home.

God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
